Colorless and Consistent from Lot to Lot:
Produced at a single glass factory for optimal process control & consistency, each lot is visibly identical. OptiClear™ low iron glass is visibly colorless as shown by the edge photo below.
- WATER WHITE 1 SIDED ANTI REFLECTIVE
- WATER WHITE 2 SIDED ANTI REFLECTIVE
- WATER WHITE LOW IRON
Over 99% visible transmission, OptiClear™ is the highest visible transmission glass product available today.
Reflected Luminance or “Brightness”:
The human eye perceives some wavelengths of light more strongly than others. The brightness (also called reflected luminance) is a measure of the level of sensation a person perceives resulting from the reflection from a surface. When measured at 10° angle of incidence, each surface of OptiClear™ is typically < 0.4% Reflected Luminance (Brightness) and < 0.2% average Reflectance from 425nm – 675nm.
What is our proprietary hydrophobic coating & how does it work?
Like all surfaces, glass is prone to getting dirty. Under a regular amount of usage, common elements such as dirt, dust & moisture come into contact with glass. Enter high usage applications like handheld devices, displays, windows, etc. Higher usage means higher maintenance; at leas it used to up till now! Our Propriety hydrophobic coating for glass is an affordable coating that operates as a dust, grease and liquid repellant. Our hydrophobic coating for glass is undetectable, lowers maintenance and extends the utility of the product under normal use. Cleaning is simple: just take a fiber cloth & gently wipe the surface of the glass. If necessary apply a spritz of isopropyl alcohol and wipe away with a fiber cloth. OptiClear™ combined with our patented Hydrophobic Coating makes our glass the highest quality, lowest maintenance choice for anti reflective glass available.
Beam/Splitter, also known as a one-way mirror, is an optically coated piece of glass with one side having mirror qualities and the other being transparent. Optical Coatings has supplied our optically coated Beam/Splitter for uses such as reality TV shows, Teleprompter manufacturers, and interrogation rooms.
